My Summer Flame

Last school year, Sunday nights were for family poetry.
Sahaj wrote a few haiku's.
Here is one.

Summer Flames

Summer feels like fire.

My birthday is August 8th.

Summer's brightest day.

Eight times around the sun today for our little Jahson.

Sometimes I walk in on his heartfelt conversation with his sister.
He tells her things like this, "You are the most beautiful girl on the planet."
And like this, "I hope this world never hurts you."

Before he goes off to bed he shows us his warmest smile and tells us things like this, "I want to wake up and live this day with you all over again."

He's nothing but light.
A happy birthday to our brightest boy.

  1. Sahaj is such a beautiful little boy. Sometimes I forget that he's actually a little boy. I miss him. I think about the time I took him and Liam to Davis. It was wonderful. Love.
Oh, and his haiku is so honest. I don't feel like that's the right word but I don't know what the word is. It's just like the simplest truest thing. None of that is what I feel when I read it. I just feel like, yesssss....

  2. He is Sahaj, which is a style of discipline, and he is pure and true. He goes around making people feel a certain way. I'm so happy that you love him.
