Morning Light

We are as the morning sun
Light
with passion
sometimes wanting
the weight of the sea

When the trident shines
our music plays itself
His arms are open
Light
Into the depth beyond colors and creed

A moment in dance never forgotten
with another memory
Poseidon leaves, Artemis called upon to ease the pain
in Light
the sea will claim

Where blame lays
a strain of paper poppies
loose and liquid
in our wanting with capsule eyes
Light
A field holds weight, the sea is never the same

  1. I really felt that bringing light to the surface as you did was very effective, Archna.

This I love, the weight of sea, especially:

    "Light
    with passion
    sometimes wanting
    the weight of the sea"

    The imagery here is exquisite:

    "Where blame lays
    a strain of paper poppies
    loose and liquid"

    Excellent with the alliteration, too.

I'm so happy to see that you could be inspired by these!!

A super warm welcome to the Imaginary Garden, too!! You will love it there...always lots going on to inspire! :)'s to you!

    1. Thanks Hannah, for allowing the moment. Your photos and thoughts on raw inspiration melted together for me with the sky and the sea. Many blessings. :)

    1. Thanks Brian, I think that there are all types of forces that touch from above.

  5. You have an uncanny skill at looking into things with an obtuse eye, seeing the world differently and making connections that are a pure joy to contemplate. (Thanks for your concern at my not posting for a few weeks. I was on a month's break in England catching up with a few lovely friends of days past.)

  8. This is a journey of infinite questions..back to Poseidon and Artemis..I wonder if the sea just carries a different weight to the earth..flowers grow and fade..the soils change..and yet it looks heavier than the sea which seems to wash away the old..making me think again..and such wonderful imagery..(again)..Jae

    1. Thank you, Jae. I wonder the same about the sea, a part of me feels that all of mythology lays somewhere inside, maybe it's the reflective/image aspect, anyway...yes, nothing stays the same, there seems to be a clearer sense of hope in the water, to me. Thanks for getting wrapped up in my words. :)

  9. This line is just so powerful, for me:
"A field holds weight, the sea is never the same"
Even just that last half. So poignant. This will stick with me.

  12. This beauty of yours reminded me of Nerval’s El Desdichado and again I see the place you write from is the same as him and all truly gifted souls : )

    1. It's funny how loose our senses and diluted our sight becomes when we want.
