Personally I am beginning to despair of humanity who just don't seem to understand how to co-exist with nature. Australia is a case in point where we seem to have little idea how to live in such a fragile environment. Fear not for the world it will survive probably without us.
Certainly, as frail as we may believe the planet to be, it has existed and prevailed through so much more than our petty wars and the pieces of her/he that we continue to steal. Not that that justifies any of it. Whatever conscious decisions we choose to make with our time here, hopefully we acknowledge the stars that we have scattered from.
You're right about co-existence; learning to share is essential, just as Earth must with her/his friends in the galaxy.
