Out of all the wonderful poems you have posted this one really gets to me. My all time favorite. We as women universally must find our voices. Men scream of war and greed, women speak softly of peace and compassion or not at all. I am putting your poem over my desk to remind me even if the world never writes back, speak up Debra speak up! Thank you my firend.
How touching your writing is, especially when it is presented in such a small, pure, calm, voice. I loved it too how you address the mad world with those initial letters of each verse. We all know it and our united small voices can effect change.
Lovely. I'm so glad you decided to continue.
ReplyDeleteI am too! Thanks for the support!

ReplyDeleteDebra, you are beautiful!
DeleteThat's a very nice poem. I think our voice has to be genuine. We shouldn't change just to be noticed.
ReplyDeleteTrue, or to hold on to something that is not truly ours.
DeleteThanks for visiting!

Reminds me of Emily Dickens...the world that never wrote to me and all that. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteExactly the inspiration. She modeled a message to the world so simply.
