A to Z: Voice

V is for Voice

My voice lays
humble
in the dark

A letter to the world
who never wrote back
to me

Do I change, then
and hope
that you will come back for me?

  2. Out of all the wonderful poems you have posted this one really gets to me. My all time favorite. We as women universally must find our voices. Men scream of war and greed, women speak softly of peace and compassion or not at all. I am putting your poem over my desk to remind me even if the world never writes back, speak up Debra speak up! Thank you my firend.

  3. That's a very nice poem. I think our voice has to be genuine. We shouldn't change just to be noticed.

  4. How touching your writing is, especially when it is presented in such a small, pure, calm, voice. I loved it too how you address the mad world with those initial letters of each verse. We all know it and our united small voices can effect change.

    1. Exactly the inspiration. She modeled a message to the world so simply.
